Most HVAC work happens where you can’t see it: inside the air handler, along the condenser coils, behind the return grille. But the results show up fast. Cooler bedrooms in August, quieter startups, energy bills that stop spiking. This gallery shows what our crews encounter when we arrive in Orange County homes, what we do about it, and how we leave things when the work is done. We believe in documenting the job, including a photo of the clean-up before we pull out of the driveway.

Garage AC Replacement Over a Finished Bonus Room
Before
AfterThe problem: A 22-year-old unit sat directly above a finished bonus room where the owners’ kids slept. The drain pan had rusted through and the blower wheel was on its way out. Every cycle sent a low rumble through the ceiling drywall.
What we did: We laid drop cloths from the garage door to the attic access, removed the old air handler without dragging it through the house, and set the new unit on a secondary drain pan with a wet switch that kills the system if water ever backs up. The old lineset was reused where code and sizing allowed to avoid opening drywall.
The result: The bonus room now cools evenly and quietly. We sent the owner a photo of the swept garage floor before the crew left, as we do on every job. That photo is part of the record, not an upsell.
Attic Furnace Swap With Honeycomb-Style Drop Cloth Run
Before
AfterThe problem: An attic furnace with a cracked heat exchanger was tripping the roll-out switch during winter mornings. The family has two dogs and a newborn, so indoor air quality and noise control were non-negotiable.
What we did: The crew wore shoe covers inside the home and laid a continuous drop cloth path from the front door, up the stairs, and to the pull-down ladder. No boots on the carpet, no tools set on the bed. The replacement furnace was sized to the existing ductwork, not upsized into a noisy mismatch.
The result: The heater now runs clean and quiet. The homeowners told us the biggest difference was what they didn’t notice: no dust smell when the heat kicked on for the first time. Our C.A.R.E. values are the reason we ask before moving anything near the ladder and respect quiet hours during nap time.
Condenser Pad Re-Level and Lineset Repair in a Sloped Side Yard
Before
AfterThe problem: Rain runoff had washed soil from under a condenser pad in a sloped side yard, leaving the unit tilted six degrees toward the house. Vibration from the tilt was wearing through the suction line insulation and stressing the copper fittings.
What we did: We pumped the system down, moved the condenser aside, and rebuilt the pad base with compacted gravel and a composite leveling pad that won’t rot. The worn section of lineset was replaced and re-insulated, then the system was pressure-tested and recharged to manufacturer spec.
The result: The condenser now sits level and runs without the low-frequency vibration that used to travel through the wall into the breakfast nook. Luis Serrano, Owner, checked the final charge numbers himself before signing off. That’s the kind of thing we don’t delegate.
Closet Air Handler Rebuild With Pet-Safe Cleanup

The problem: A closet air handler in a second-story condo had a blower motor that was failing intermittently. The owners kept their cat’s litter box in the same hallway, and the old motor was pulling that fine dust into the return air path.
What we did: We rebuilt the blower assembly with a new motor and capacitor, replaced the filter rack with one that seals tighter, and used pet-safe coil cleaner instead of the harsh foaming stuff that off-gasses for days. Before we started, we asked the owners to move the litter box to a spare bathroom so we could work without contamination.
The result: The air handler now ramps up smoothly and the condo smells neutral again. The owners said they didn’t realize how much of the cat smell was being recirculated until it stopped. Our crew wears clean gloves when handling filters and explains the price before any work starts, every time.
Duct Sealing and Return Air Correction in a Two-Story Home

The problem: Upstairs bedrooms were running five to seven degrees warmer than the downstairs living room every afternoon. The return air path was undersized, so the system was starving for air and pulling attic heat through gaps in the ductwork.
What we did: We sealed the accessible supply and return ducts with mastic, added a return air grille in the upstairs hallway, and corrected the filter slot so a standard four-inch media filter fits properly. No new equipment was needed, which is a sentence we’re happy to write because it means we didn’t sell anything unnecessary.
The result: The second floor now stays within two degrees of the thermostat setting. The owners had a written price before we started, and the price didn’t change when we found extra leaky joints. That’s the 365-Day Done Right Promise doing its job.
Full System Changeout for a Ranch in a High-Radon-Code Area

The problem: A single-story ranch built in the late 1980s still had its original split system. The outdoor unit was leaking refrigerant, and the indoor coil had corrosion that suggested it would fail within a year. The owners planned to stay in the home long-term and wanted a quiet system that could handle the coastal marine air.
What we did: We installed a complete matched system with a corrosion-resistant coil that holds up better in salt-air environments. The crew ran drop cloths through the entire house because the air handler is located at the far end of the hall. Every old component was hauled away, and we sent a photo of the empty garage corner where the old furnace used to sit.
The result: The new system cools the ranch evenly and the outdoor unit is nearly silent from ten feet away. Luis Serrano, Owner, walked the property at the end to make sure the condensate line drained away from the foundation, not toward it. Details like that keep a system running right for two decades.
